Résonances” – An echo of “Site Transitoire” in the Parc des Adrechs
The “sister cities” program between the village of La Roque d’Anthéron and Asciano, Italy, has led to the desire to memorialize this relationship through the creation of a sculptural work that echoes both “Site Transitoire” and the special link between La Roque d’Anthéron and the ITER Organization.
Indeed, the Parc des Adrechs, where “Résonances” will be installed, borders the road that runs from Berre-l’Etang to Saint-Paul-lez-Durance. Along this road, materials of exceptional size – provided by 35 partner countries – are transported from the port of Marseille-Fos to the ITER site.
Situated at the entrance of the town, coming from Avignon, the sculpture will be positioned on the opposite side of the city from Silvacane Abbey. They abbey itself is an exceptional element of architectural heritage that testifies to the art of sculpture throughout history. The monument will be easy to access, and will serve as a local landmark and meeting point.
